KeepVid allows you to download streaming videos from YouTube, Dailymotion, Metacafe, iFilm, and more.  No software downloads required!  Simply paste the URL of the video you want to download, select a format (MP4 - Max 480P works for me), and click "download."  It couldn't be easier.

WeVideo – a powerful, feature-filled online video editor.

WeVideo offers a full-featured video editor with nothing to download or install.   K-12 plans include a “walled-garden” feature that can be used to address safety and privacy concerns by limiting sharing of student-generated videos.

Today, WeVideo announced the launch of their Education Channel.  The aim of this channel is to use curriculum-aligned online Film Fests to inspire students and “showcase the best global student videos.”  The channel also provides students with a source of royalty-free footage for use in the Film Fest Videos. 

A free (limited)  plan is available with K-12 plans starting at $149/semester for 50 students.  The free account met the needs of my students for short videos.  A free semester-long pilot program is currently being offered to universities.

SafeShare.TV - Safely remove ads, related videos, and surprises that pop up when sharing YouTube videos.

Simply paste a link to a YouTube video into the textbox on SafeShare.TV and they will provide you with a shareable link to a cleaned-up view of that video.  No ads, no related videos, no “popular videos” popping up. 

The site even gives you a few options for customizing your cleaned up video.  You can re-title it, change the theme (4 different backgrounds), enable/disable sharing, and select to display all or just a segment of the video.  They also provide a 2-click option for downloading your video.
